Once the "Item Validation" feature is configured under "Settings > Quote > Item Validation," Cloud checks every item added to every quote and displays an alert next to the item when it fails validation.
Item validation alerts
In the quote, items that fail any enabled item validations will display a Red "Alert" icon.
Hovering over the icon for the item will show you which validations the item failed.
Fix validation issues
You have two options to fix the validation issue(s) seen in the item.
Apply the fix only to the item added to the quote
To fix the item validation issue, click the item with the alert. In the item's side panel, update the cost, price, or labor. These changes will be applied to only the item in this quote.
In this screenshot, the item has two validation issues: "Unit cost is zero" and "Margin or markup is zero or negative."
You can update multiple items by selecting them and updating their details in the side panel.
Check out this article for more details.
Apply the fix to the item in the catalog
If you want to apply the changes to the item in the catalog so it does not show the alert in other open, in-progress, or new quotes, click "More" in the side panel, then click "View catalog item."
At this point, the catalog item is locked for edits. Click "Fix" on the prompt at the top of the item modal. This will make the item editable.
Now, make the changes to the item.
After making the changes for the item, the item will stop displaying the Red Alert icon.
