While it is true that images speak for themselves, you may not be able to fully convey the rationale behind a design, the benefits of using a product, or any such insightful message over just the image.

Cloud has the "Image Hotspots" functionality to let you add clickable markers over an image to display short informative text when the customer clicks on the markers on the proposal. This can help you enable a visual storytelling experience about your case studies or current project designs.

The Image Hotspots capability is available for images you add in the Portfolio and Gallery sections.

Because Cloud proposals are LIVE and customers and reviewers will see the edits instantly, you still have the option to add hotspots to case studies and images used in proposals that are currently under review.

Portfolio section

To add hotspots to an image already used in a case study, go to the "Edit" view of the proposal, click "Edit" in the Portfolio section, and click on the case study.

This will show the edit view of the case study. Click the 3-dot menu of the image and click "Edit." In the image, click on the spot where you want to add the hotspot, add the title and description of the hotspot, and click "Save."

If you are adding a new image to a case study, you have the option to add the hotspot right after uploading the image.

In the following example, we added a hotspot over the drop ceiling in the image.

Gallery section

To add hotspots to an image that is being added to the Gallery section in its Edit view, click the "Pencil" icon under "Manage Hotspots."

In the image, click on the spot where you want to add the hotspot, add the title and description of the hotspot, and click "Save."

When customers see images in the Gallery section, they will see a "View more" button on smaller, non-expanded images with hotspots. If you want to rename the button to something like "Interactive view," you can do so under "View Hotspots Button Text" in the left panel.

If you are adding hotspots to an existing image, go to its Edit view and add the hotspots.

In the following example, we added a hotspot over the chandelier and carpet in the image.
