Before you proceed, to reiterate what these items mean:

  • Optional items are client-selectable items that the customer will need to select and explicitly add to the scope of the project.

  • Alternate items are items you provide the customer to choose from.

  • Client-supplied items are those that are needed for planning the execution of the project but will not be supplied by you.

You can choose your preferences for how these items are displayed in the proposal.

Optional items

By default, the optional items will be listed along with other items by the sorting criteria set in the proposal.

To group optional items and show them together, select the "Group optional items" option in the customization options for the Products section in the panel on the left.

Now, optional items will be grouped under the "Additional options" subgroup at the end of the list of items.

If multiple groups (locations or systems) have optional items, you will see an "Additional options" subgroup in those groups.

Alternate items

By default, the customer will need to click "View Alternates" under an item in the proposal to see its alternates.

To expand the alternates list and show all alternates upfront, turn on the "Expand alternate items" option in the customization options for the Products section in the panel on the left.

Client-Supplied items

Client-Supplied items are displayed by default in the proposal with the label "Client Supplied."

To change this, turn off the "Show client-supplied items" option in the customization options for the Products section in the panel on the left.

You can also change the label as needed.

The following is a screenshot with the following options:

  • Alternate items list expanded

  • Client-Supplied items displayed in the proposal

  • Optional items grouped under "Additional options"
