Changing how the project summary is displayed

How to customize the display of project value in the project description of the proposal

"Project Summary" is where you show the estimated budget of the project in the proposal. Most, if not all, stakeholders involved in the project would like to see the budget summary and whether or not they want to see other sections of the proposal.

Cloud supports two types of sections for showing project value: the Pricing Summary section and the Executive Summary section.

  • The Pricing Summary section is usually added to proposals that use the Multimedia layout.

  • The Executive Summary section is added to proposals with the Quick Quote layout.

However, there is no restriction on adding the sections to both layouts.

Pricing Summary section

This section has the following customization options:

Change the title and labels

Click the "Overview" tab to change the title and the labels of the various line items in the summary.

In the following screenshot, we have the label for adjustment to "Project Discount" and the label for discount to "Product Discount."

Break down Project Value by Price Type

Click the "Layout" tab and then one of the three subtabs to choose to show the project value as a single “total price” or an “itemized price breakdown” of the product total, labor total, discounts, adjustments, and taxes that total up to the project value.

Break down Project Value by Location, System, or Labor Type

Under the "Layoty tab," use the "Show prices" dropdown to show the project value as a single “total price” or as a breakdown by location, phase, system, labor type, location and system, and system and location.

Change Itemization Settings

If you choose to show the project value with an itemized price breakdown, you have the following options:

  • For discounts, service plans, and subscriptions, you have the option to show or hide them.

  • For taxes and adjustments, you have the option to show them as single values or broken out by the individual values that add up to their total sum.

Executive Summary section

This section provides customization options similar to those in the Pricing Summary section. You will also see additional options for adding or editing the scope of work and the descriptions of the locations and systems.
