Typically, products in the catalog exist as a single unit. If you want to sell multiple products, you can specify the quantity required for the project when you add the product to the quote. Some products, like speakers, work in pairs; a minimum of 2 is required to set up audio.
In such cases, you can configure the speaker to be added as a pair (2 speakers) in the catalog. When you add the speaker to the quote, Cloud automatically adds 2 speakers.
Create sell units under Settings
By default, Cloud has the "Pair" sell unit configured under "Settings > Catalog > Sell/Purchase Units." You can add more sell units, such as a "Trio" or a "Quartet," to sell products such as solar panels, cameras, and wireless access points in multiple quantities.
You can also apply a "Bulk Discount" to Pair, Trio, and Quartet in the item side panel in the quote.
Configure the product as a Pair
To configure a product as a pair:
Go to Catalog > My Products in the left navigation menu and open the details view of the product.
Select "Pair" in the Sell Unit dropdown.
Set the default quantity to 2.
You don't need to change the pricing and labor time for the speakers, as Cloud will automatically factor in the pricing and labor for 2 speakers.
If you want to retain only one speaker in the quote, you can change the quantity to 1 in the quote.
Add Pair products to the quote
In the List view of the quote, search for the pair product and add it. The quantity is automatically set to 2, and labor is doubled.
The following example shows the quantity, labor, and the "Pair discount" applied for the speaker pair.
In the Visual Quoting experience, you should add the speakers on the floor plan from the Group views on the left. Click "Enable click to add" and place the 2 speakers on the floor plan.
You cannot add pair products from the Item Search bar at the top when using the Visual Quoting functionality.
