Cloud provides a distinct feature, "Automatic Plan Renewal," for service plans. You can include this feature in your service agreements and monitoring agreements to let Cloud automatically renew the relevant service contract on its completion date.

To include the "Automatic Plan Renewal" feature, add it to an existing plan or when creating a new one. You also have the following options when defining this feature:

  • Set the duration of the extension for the contract.

  • Hike the original base price of the plan to take product aging and inflation into account.

In this example, we defined the Automatic Plan Renewal feature to renew the contract for an additional 12 months with a 5% increase in the base price.

The process of adding the Automatic Plan Renewal feature to a plan is similar to adding other features.

Check out this article for more details about adding features to a service plan.

You can use the "Auto Renew" option to renew and extend open and completed contracts. Renewing a contract using this option provides some additional benefits compared to using the Automatic Plan Renewal feature in the plan.

To renew a contract using the "Auto Renew" option, go to the details view of the contract and click "None" next to Auto Renew.

In the modal, you will see the options to:

  • Renew the contract upon contract completion or set a specific start date for renewal.

  • Set the duration of the extension for the contract.

  • Hike the original base price of the plan to take product aging and inflation into account.

  • Specify a discount on the plan value.

Click "Schedule" to activate the auto-renewal. You will see the renewal details in the Renewal History section.
