Starting on July 26th, D-Tools Cloud will include a direct pricing integration to Tech Data for Sony-manufactured products. Using the pricing integration, authorized Tech Data dealers can get up-to-date, dealer-specific pricing via the D-Tools Cloud to Tech Data integration.
Unlike other direct partner integrations, our Tech Data integration includes a unique method for first authorizing you as a valid dealer. The Tech Data integration leverages OAuth to validate your account with Tech Data. Authorizing your access to Tech Data's pricing services requires the same username and password that you use to sign into other Tech Data online portals and services.
In addition, the Tech Data integration requires users to make an additional choice to correctly sign in to Tech Data:
Find the Tech Data supplier in the Supplier list available in the Catalog>Suppliers tab.
Click on the "Get my pricing" link to start the dealer authorization process.
To start the authorization process you will first be prompted to select a pricing option to select the default pricing to be used in your quotes. Tech Data has two different pricing options "Base Price" and "Promotional Price."
Base Price - This is the standard dealer pricing for products regardless of any current promotional pricing. This is the recommended option to use for quoting as the promotional pricing may not be available when you order the product. However, this may result in the pricing you see in D-Tools Cloud being different from what you see when you log in to Tech Data's dealer portal.
Promotional Price - Some products may offer certain promotional pricing at the time of lookup during the quoting process. If you want to use the Promotional Pricing as your dealer cost for your quotes (if available) then choose the Use promotional price if available option.
Once you have selected a pricing option click "Connect."
Next, you will be taken to a screen to authenticate your account with Tech Data.
Step 1: On the Select Authentication System step select the "Partner Base Auth Adapter" choice. Please note: This choice is required to complete the authorization process.
Step 2: Provide your Tech Data provided Username and Password. If you do not have or know your Tech Data credentials, contact the Tech Data team for assistance.
Step 3: On the final step, click the "Allow" button to complete the authorization process.
Following authorization you will have access to Tech Data pricing as part of quoting your Sony products. Make sure you associate the products you specify with Tech Data as the default supplier.
