You don't always have to create proposal templates under Settings upfront. You can use the default template Cloud provides, add or delete sections, customize them, change the design, and then save the proposal you're editing as a proposal template.

The instructions in this article apply to Project Proposal templates, Service Proposal templates, and Change Order Proposal templates.

You need the "Create and manage proposal templates' permission in the "Proposal" permissions group, or you need to be a member of a group that has it, to save a project proposal, service proposal, or change order proposal as a template.

To save the proposal settings as a template, go to the Edit proposal view, click the "Templates" icon, and click "Save as new template."

The following is an example of how to save the changes as a new template for a project proposal.

Type in a name for the template and click "Create." The current sections, customization settings, and proposal design are saved as a new template under "Settings > Proposal," and you can use it for future proposals.

If you want to save the changes to the same template (update and overwrite the currently applied template), click "Save template."
