How to use separate numbering sequences for Internal and External change orders within a project

By default, Cloud assigns numbers to Change Orders (COs) within a project sequentially irrespective of the type of CO—Internal or External.

When creating multiple change orders (COs) of different types in a project, you have the option to use separate numbering sequences for Internal and External change orders. This way, you can easily identify and maintain separate sets of internal COs and external COs in the project.

To enable different numbering sequences, go to "Project > Change Order Number Option" under Settings, and enable "Generate separate numbers for external and internal change orders."

Here is what you can expect after the enablement:

  • For a new project, Cloud will assign the first internal CO and first external CO number "1." From here on, Cloud will assign subsequent numbers in their respective numbering sequence.

  • For projects with existing COs, Cloud will start assigning CO numbers based on the current numbering state of the COs. If there are 2 internal COs numbered 1, and 3, and one external numbered 2 in the project, the new external CO will be assigned number "3" and the new internal CO will be assigned number "4."

The following is an example screenshot with separate numbering sequences used for COs.
