On Cloud, a "Package" is a way to group products and labor. You can create two types of packages on Cloud: "Products and Labor" package and "Labor" package.

Products and Labor packages can accommodate products and labor added as Labor Types. The Labor package can contain only labor.

An example of a Products and Labor Package would be a 55" TV, a Sonos sound bar, a Sub, two Sonos Ones, mounts/stand, and some labor hours for installation and programming.

An example of a Labor package would be an hour of Installation labor and 30 minutes of Programming labor for the TV.

There are three different ways to create a Products and Labor package.

#1 Under Packages

1/ Go to Catalog > Packages in the left navigation menu and click the "Add package" button in the upper right.

2/ Select "Products and Labor Package," and click "Next."

You will see the New Package modal.

3/ You will need to specify the following in the New Package modal.

Package details

Use the Name, Category, Image, and Description fields to make the package easily recognizable among multiple packages.

Package pricing

There are two ways to set the package pricing:

  • Compute from Items - if you select this, Cloud will automatically total the prices of the items you add to the package.

  • Fixed Price - if you select this, you will need to set the price, cost, margin, and markup.

You also have the "Use associated labor for all products and allowances in this package" option to retain or discard labor that is associated with products via the Category Rules feature.

Items

In the Items Search bar, you can add the products and labor that should be part of this package.

4/ Click "Create."

If you want to add keywords that can help you search for packages in the catalog or quote, go to the edit view of the package and add one or more keywords in the "Keywords" text box.

#2 Under My Products

1/ Go to Catalog > My Products in the left navigation menu and select multiple products.

If you have added keywords for products or marked them as favorites, you can use the keyword or the Favorites filter to filter the product list.

2/ Click the "Action on x selected" dropdown at the top-right corner and click "Create a new package." You will see the New Package modal with the selected products already loaded.

3/ Add package details, set the pricing, and change the product quantity if needed.

You can add labor from the Items Search bar to make this a Products and Labor package.

4/ Click "Create."

#3 Within the quote

When in the quote, you can create a package in the following ways:

  • Select multiple items and click "New package" in the side panel. This will help you create a package from the items already in the quote.

  • Click "New Item," located above the Items Search bar, and select whether you want to create a Products and Labor package or a Labor package. This will help you create new packages with any of the catalog items.

The packages you create in quotes will be saved in the catalog for future use.

Add a package to the quote

Adding a package is simple. You can go to the quote you want to add the package to, search for the package's name or the keyword, and click "Quick add."

After the package has been added, you will see the package itself. You can expand the package by clicking the arrow on the left to see all the items in the package.

Update package items

Here are some things you need to know about updates to packages made using the "Compute from item" option.

  • You can change the pricing of items in a package by clicking the 3-dot menu, then selecting "Edit item" in the Package Details view.

  • You can also change the pricing for products and labor types, and Cloud will automatically update the package's total price.

  • The price of the package in the quotes in which it is already added will not change. The new price will apply only to new quotes.

  • For a package already in a quote, pricing and other changes to its products can be updated by syncing the updates in the Quote Details view. Check out this article for more details.

Add items to multiple packages simultaneously

You can add items to multiple, identical packages in a quote by selecting their headers in the quote and adding items from the side panel.
