How to Import products from D-Tools SI to D-Tools Cloud

D-Tools System Integration (SI) and D-Tools Cloud are two different Project Management applications built at D-Tools. SI is the on-premises solution, and Cloud is the SaaS solution. Both have their own niche capabilities.

While it is possible to import products with their details from SI to Cloud, all the fields you export from SI are not supported on Cloud.

Here is how you can import products from SI to Cloud.

Export products from SI

Go to SI and then "Products" under the "Catalog" tab. Once in the Product Explorer, click the "Tools" tab to see the Export and Import options in the ribbon.

You can choose to export the products you have selected, or you can export all products.

This will open the Export Items to CSV File interface. Select and deselect the columns you want to export or go with the defaults.

Note that not all columns will map to a column in D-Tools Cloud. When finished, click OK.

 

This will download the products with their details in a CSV file.

Import file into D-Tools Cloud

You will have to work on the downloaded CSV file to remove the columns not supported on Cloud. Once you have done that and formatted the file properly, you can import the product details to Cloud.

You will use the Import Products functionality under "Catalog > Products" to import the products.
