On Cloud, you can mark products as "Ready to Order" and add them to a global list of products due for procurement. The Ready to Order products across all projects will be displayed under "Procurement > Ready to Order."

Ready to Order is a built-in Order status you can customize from "Project > Item Statuses" under Settings.

Use cases

Some of the use cases for using the Ready to Order functionality are:

  • Ordering requires explicit approval. In this case, you need approvals from internal stakeholders before ordering products.

  • Procurement department or person orders products. In this case, your organization has a dedicated department or person for procurement, and they place the order from a D-Tools Cloud account.

  • Projects are long-running, and all products are not needed soon. Here, products required in the later phases of the projects can be ordered in due time with possible discounts.

  • Products are ordered in cycles. Here, you wait a certain amount of time before ordering products to create a larger PO and take advantage of bulk discounts and reduced freight.ย
