Written by Ashok P

When building a visual quote, you may need to add text on the plan view or image for purposes such as:

  • Providing notes about the design for reviewers and customers.

  • Adding room dimensions to the floor plan if it does not come with it.

  • Adding company website and contact details so that the plan view PNG is watermarked when it is downloaded

  • Adding legends to explain the symbols, numbers, and other custom terminology used on the floor plan

Add text

You have the option to add the following types of text:

  • Plain text: Comes with minimal text formatting functionality.

  • Rich text: Comes with advanced text formatting functionality and options to add hyperlinks and emojis.

Plain text

To add plan text:

1/ On the toolbar, click "Text" and "Plain text."

2/ Click a spot on the canvas where you want to add the text box.

3/ Type in the text in the text box and click outside the box.

By default, the text in the box is Normal and Black.

Rich text

To add rich text:

1/ On the toolbar, click "Text" and "Rich text."

2/ Click a spot on the canvas where you want to add text.

This will open the Add Text editor with the option to add text. All the options to format and enrich the text are listed at the top of the editor. The options are intuitive and show their functionality when you hover over them.

3/ When you have added all the text, click "Save," and the text box will be added to the canvas.

Here is a screenshot that depicts the outcome of using the different options in the editor.

The maximum number of rich text characters you can add in a text box is 4,000.
