Inventory Management permissions

What are user permissions with the Inventory Management functionality

Written by Tim Bigoness

Inventory Management comes with 5 user permissions. You will need to be a member of the built-in Administrator group to assign Inventory Management permissions to users.

The following are the permissions.

Permission

Capabilities

Check in inventory items

Check in inventory-tracked items from POs and the Inventory page

Check out inventory items

Check out inventory-tracked items and reserve for projects

Manage inventory

Remove inventory-tracked items from Inventory Management, edit details of inventory-tracked items, and the capabilities with the “Adjust inventory” permission

Adjust inventory

Adjust on-hand quantity and move inventory-tracked items across inventory locations

Import and export inventory items

Import inventory-tracked items in CSV files and export inventory-tracked item details in CSV files.

By default, these permissions are not assigned to any of the custom user groups. For built-in user groups, some permissions are assigned automatically based on the role of the group.

To assign one or more permissions to a custom user group, go to "Settings > Account > Users & Permissions," click the custom user group, scroll down to the Inventory permissions, and toggle the required permissions to ON.

To adjust the permissions for a built-in user group, click the group, then scroll down to Inventory permissions and toggle the required permissions to ON or OFF.
