When your company sends out many project and service proposals, especially from different salespeople, you may need consistency in how the proposals read and look and what they convey.
Cloud has the "Proposal Templates" functionality to let Cloud users build a library of templates they can all use when building proposals. This way, your company can have distinct templates for different market sectors, types of customers, types of projects, and so on.
Each proposal template can have its own default descriptions, sections, and customization settings available in the Section Editor menus. This gives you a great deal of flexibility in building different types of templates that you can pick from when building proposals.
Types of proposal templates
There are three areas on Cloud where proposals are needed—Project quote, Service quote, and Change Order.
Cloud lets you add custom templates for each of these proposal types.
Project proposal template - this is a template used when you create a proposal from a project opportunity.
Service proposal template - this is a template used when you create a proposal from a project opportunity.
Change order template - this is a template used when you create a change order in a project opportunity.
The options to create all three types of templates are under "Settings > Proposal" in the left navigation menu.
Add templates under Settings
We provide some default templates per type of proposal under "Settings > Proposal." You can add more templates under each of the proposal types.
Here, you create templates from scratch by adding the required sections, default text, and customization settings.
One of the templates should be marked as the default, and that template will be applied to all proposals.

Save the proposal settings as a template
Creating templates from scratch can be cumbersome. If you want to bank on proposal acceptance results and best practices as you build different types of templates, you have the option to save the settings of the proposals that worked as templates.
The templates will be saved to your Template Library under Settings, and you can use them in future proposals.

Change templates when in the proposal
Although Cloud will always load the default template for proposals, you have the option to change the template when in the "Edit Proposal" view.
For example, you mostly do Commercial projects and use the "Commercial" proposal template as the default. But when sending proposals for Residential customers, you can change the template to "Residential."
