What Quote Assist does
The slowest part of a new quote is the blank page. You already have the site survey, the spec document, the drawings, and the notes from the walkthrough. Turning all of that into a room by room product list is the part nobody looks forward to, and it has to happen before you can price anything.
Quote Assist does that first pass for you. You check off which files, drawings, and notes it is allowed to read, and it works through them the way an estimator would. It works out the rooms, what each room needs and how much of it, then matches every line against your own catalog and the D-Tools Library and writes the products onto the quote.
What comes back is a working quote, not a summary. Items sit in the right rooms and systems with quantities on them, ready for you to price, adjust, and add labor to. Anything Quote Assist was not confident about is flagged in place instead of guessed at, so you can see exactly where your judgment is needed and skip past the rest.
If an administrator has set up your company's quoting best practices, Quote Assist follows them, so that first pass already looks like the way your team quotes.
It fills the blank quote. It does not finish the quote for you.
Where you start it
There are four ways in, and all of them land at the same Select Sources step.
New Quote on an opportunity. Choose Quote Assist instead of Classic quote, then pick your sources. The quote is not created until you click Build quote, so backing out at that point leaves nothing behind.
An empty quote. Open the Items page of a quote with nothing on it and click Use Quote Assist.
Converting a survey response. Quote Assist opens automatically with the survey brief already checked.
Creating a quote from an opportunity budget. Same as above, with the budget breakdown already checked.
Quote Assist is not offered on a quote you only have read access to.
What it adds to the quote
Quote Assist adds products, with quantities, organized into rooms and systems. It creates the rooms and systems on the quote as it goes if they do not already exist.
Products come from one of two places:
Your own catalog, when you already carry the product.
The D-Tools Library, when you do not. Accepting one of those adds that product to your catalog as well as to the quote. The review panel labels these clearly before you accept anything.
What it does not add
Quote Assist is a starting point for the product list. It does not touch:
Labor
Packages, allowances, or custom items
Pricing, margins, or discounts
Taxes, terms, or payment milestones
The proposal or scope of work
It also never quietly rewrites lines that were already on the quote. If it believes a planned item should replace something already there, it asks you first.
What you review afterwards
Most items land straight on the quote. Some are held back for you, and they appear in the room where they belong with a colored row:
Needs review means it found likely products but wants you to choose.
No match means nothing in the catalog or the library fits.
Replacement means accepting it would swap a line already on the quote.
Location unclear means it could not work out which room the item belongs in.

Ask D-Tools is right there while you work
Quote Assist does the first pass. The chat panel beside your quote handles everything after it, and it already knows which quote you are looking at, so you can ask in plain language:
"Add two more ceiling speakers to the Great Room"
"What still needs my review?"
"Swap the projector in the Theater for the Sony"
"Move the rack gear to the Equipment Room"
It can add, change, remove, and move items, create and rename locations, offer options to compare, and resolve or dismiss the rows Quote Assist flagged for review.
If you do not see the panel, open it from the chat icon in the top bar. It stays open or closed the way you last left it.
Who can use it
You need the Create and manage quotes permission, the same permission you need to build a quote by hand.
Quote Assist is rolling out gradually. If you do not see it on the New Quote dialog or on an empty quote, it is not switched on for your account yet.
