A "Cable Type" defines the type of wire or cable used to connect devices. For example, Cat6, HDMI, or USB.
By default, Cloud provides the most commonly used cable types.
Add cable types
To add a new cable type:
1/ Go to "Settings > Drawing > Cable Types."
2/ Click "New cable type" in the top-right corner.
3/ In the new row at the top, add a name for the cable type and set a color for it.
The new signal type is added to the cable type list.
The wires or cables you assign to the connections in the connection diagram appear in the color you set for the cable type.
In the following screenshot, we added a new cable type called "USB."
You can sort the cable type list and search for a specific cable type.
If needed, you can edit a cable type's name and color in the cable type row. These changes appear in existing connection diagrams.
Set the cable type in the catalog
To show the wire or cable color in a connection diagram, you need to enable the "Cable Type" setting in the catalog, then assign the relevant cable type available under "Settings > Drawings > Cable Types." To do so:

2/ Click a wire or cable product.
3/ In the Details modal of the product, do the following:
a/ Click the "Specs, Barcode & Coverage" tab.
b/ Set "Enable Cable Type for this product" to ON.
c/ Select the relevant cable type from the "Cable Type" dropdown.
You can see all cable types defined under Drawing settings in the dropdown.
