The D-Tools Cloud release R99 was made available to customers on the 11th of June, 2026.
New features
The following new features were released in the D-Tools Cloud R99 release.
Accounting and Finance
▶ Display PO number on invoices
Easily track and reference purchase orders directly from your invoices. With the new PO Number field, you can add a Purchase Order (PO) number to any invoice type, including projects, change orders, contracts, subscriptions, and service calls, ensuring a consistent invoicing experience across the platform.
When available, the PO number is displayed in both the invoice presentation view and the downloaded PDF, making it easier for customers and accounting teams to reconcile invoices with their purchasing records.
▶ Invoice permissions: create, manage & delete invoices
Take control of your invoicing workflow with new, flexible permissions designed to match how your team operates. With granular access controls for creating, managing, and deleting invoices, you can confidently delegate responsibilities while protecting critical financial data. Whether you’re empowering your finance team or restricting collaborator access, invoicing permissions ensure the right people have the right level of control.
Catalog
▶ Add Labor Hours, Phase, Supplier, Category columns to the catalog grid
Surface labor hours, phase, supplier, and full category path columns directly on the catalog products grid so you can validate and groom your catalog at a glance instead of opening items one at a time.
Show or hide these columns to taste, with your selection remembered across sessions, and sort or filter on any of the new fields. Especially helpful for SI migrators and anyone doing catalog QA at scale.
▶ TAG Pricing API
API integration for an Australian-based supplier, Tag Pricing.
Engineering Documentation and Drawings
▶ Automated Location-Based device placement for Port-Bearing devices in the plan view
This feature introduces location-driven automation in plan view by placing only port-bearing devices when a location is drawn. The initial release focuses on using quote and location data to determine which devices qualify for placement and rendering them automatically in the correct plan area.
Future enhancements can enhance placement intelligence, support more advanced device rules, and extend compatibility with broader project workflows and drawing views, while maintaining alignment between the quote structure and graphical output.
▶ Box Format panel
The Box Format Panel feature introduced in this release ensures that formatting behavior is complete and consistent across all box types.
Future enhancements should add reusable formatting presets, copy/paste style, advanced typography controls, field-specific formatting, conditional formatting, and validation rules.
Later phases should introduce live preview improvements and intelligent recommendations for font size, spacing, and label formatting based on box dimensions.
▶ Box placement and resizing
The Box Placement and Resizing feature introduced provides reliable placement, movement, selection, and resizing across all supported box types.
Future improvements should include snap-to-grid, alignment indicators, collision detection, minimum/maximum box sizing, duplicate box actions, grouping, and precision positioning controls.
Later phases should add advanced layout tools such as distribute spacing, align to zone, copy formatting, and automated layout repair.
▶ Delete connections using a keyboard shortcut
This feature enhances diagram editing efficiency by introducing a quick, intuitive keyboard shortcut to remove connections. The initial release will focus on accurate selection detection, reliable deletion behavior, and real-time updates.
Future enhancements may include undo/redo functionality, bulk deletion options, and customizable keyboard shortcuts to further improve user productivity.
▶ Diagram-Level Title Block panel
The Diagram-Level Title Block Panel feature provides a clear workflow for assigning title blocks within diagrams.
Future improvements should include better validation for missing project data, inline field editing, preview-before-apply, warning messages for incomplete mappings, and the ability to switch title blocks without losing custom text.
Later phases should support bulk application of title blocks across multiple diagrams and synchronization with project-level documentation standards.
▶ Field-Mapping and Auto-Population
The Field Mapping and Auto-Population feature provides reliable one-to-one field mapping, read-only mapped states, and accurate auto-population from project data.
Future phases should add field validation, fallback values, custom fields, conditional field visibility, formatting by field type, and warnings for missing data.
Later improvements should support bulk updates, reusable field mappings, project-level synchronization, and integrations with external data sources.
▶ Title Block setup and Page configuration
The Title Block Setup and Page Configuration features provide complete support for standard paper sizes, accurate scaling, flexible orientation, and reliable grid generation.
Future improvements should introduce recommended presets for common workflows such as quick prints, scaled drawings, professional plans, and large presentations.
Later phases should include custom paper sizes, saved layout presets, validation warnings, print/export previews, and intelligent recommendations based on drawing type or project standards.
General/Miscellaneous
▶ Audit of drop-down Remove button
Optional dropdowns throughout D-Tools Cloud now have a red X to clear your selection and return the field to blank. We did a platform-wide audit, so the behavior is consistent everywhere a non-required dropdown appears, meaning you're no longer stuck with a placeholder value when you'd rather leave a field empty. Required dropdowns still enforce their selections as before.
▶ Indent subcategories in Settings
When you expand a category on the Settings Category page, its subcategories now appear indented underneath it. A small visual change that makes the hierarchy much easier to scan, so you can tell at a glance which items are top-level categories and which are nested beneath them.
▶ Update roadmap link on Cloud user menu
Aha Roadmap has been shared in the Cloud user menu.
Inventory
▶ Mobile Installer App should expose inventory checkout flow on service calls (parity with browser)
Field techs can now check out inventory-tracked items directly from the mobile installer app, closing a gap where the browser had a checkout dialog but the app didn't.
Adding an inventory-tracked item to a service call still creates the line as Requested as it does today, but now a checkout action is right there in the flow — pick the warehouse location, the status flips to Delivered, and you can mark it Installed without leaving the app or waiting on office staff.
▶ Onboarding Banner Scoping (Hybrid Inventory Tracking)
The QR label onboarding banner no longer counts assets from Pool-tracked products, so you won't see prompts to print labels for products that don't have asset records in the first place.
The banner now also scopes its counts to assets created through Upgrade, CSV Import, or Tracking Mode Change — the situations where label setup actually matters — rather than to every asset record in your system.
▶ Project Item Status Scheduling filter by Inventory-Tracked vs Non-Inventory-Tracked items
A new filter on the Project > Item Status > Scheduling tab lets you narrow the view to inventory-tracked items only, non-tracked items only, or all items.
This is helpful when you're scheduling around what's actually being pulled from inventory versus what's drop-shipped or otherwise handled outside the warehouse. The filter lives in the standard filter drawer and only appears for tenants on Inventory Asset Management, where the distinction matters most.
▶ QR label settings
A new QR Labels subsection under Settings > Inventory gives admins a place to configure how asset labels print. Choose your default print format (PDF out of the box or Brother Roll Printer), and pick what appears on the label itself: the QR barcode with just the Asset ID and serial number, or the QR barcode plus key asset information.
When you opt for the richer label, any change to that asset's information automatically triggers a fresh label to print, so you can adhere the updated version over the old one. Brother printer configuration covers label size, orientation, and print quality. Settings are admin-only and global for now, with per-computer configurations on the radar for when different printers and label sizes start mixing in the same shop.
▶ Settings > Inventory - rebrand Basic/Advanced to Pools/IAM
The Settings > Inventory Management page is getting a refresh that makes your current inventory mode clear at a glance and gives you a cleaner way to switch between them or turn inventory off entirely.
The two modes are now called Inventory Pools (pool quantities and locations) and Inventory Asset Management (individual asset records with QR labels, serials, and lifecycle history).
If you're on Inventory Pools, you'll see a side-by-side comparison of the two modes, with a clear upgrade path to IAM. If you're already on IAM, you'll see your active mode with the features it unlocks — Asset Browser, Asset Workflows, Asset Labels, Asset Reports, and Audit Log — plus a way to switch back to Counts if needed. Mode switches walk you through exactly what will happen to your data and reservations before you confirm, so there are no surprises.
▶ Update the product asset table to include IP address, MAC address, and firmware fields as columns
The asset table now supports IP Address 1, IP Address 2, MAC Address 1, MAC Address 2, and Firmware Version as columns you can toggle on or off through the column picker. Handy for spot-checking network details across your assets without opening each one individually.
▶ Update QR labels settings to allow outputting more fields and their values
Asset QR labels can now include a much richer set of fields beyond the basics: current status, allocated project (with name, ID, phase, and location like Primary Bedroom), allocated service call, associated PO, first 50 characters of the asset's notes (sanitized of formatting and emoji), unit cost, and the last printed label date.
If a field is configured to show but has no value for a given asset — say, no project has been allocated yet — the label still prints the field header with a blank value, so it's clear the data point is empty rather than missing. To make room for all this information, you may need to choose a larger label size in your settings.
Procurement
▶ User-Modified Pricing flag on orders
When a dealer sends a purchase order to a supplier whose catalog pricing has changed, D-Tools Cloud will flag any line items where the manually entered cost no longer matches the latest catalog price. The warning shows the variance between the two values, so the dealer can see exactly what's changed before the PO goes out. From there, the dealer can choose to sync to the current catalog pricing or keep their own manually entered cost and proceed.
This helps dealers catch outdated pricing before it reaches the supplier, while still leaving the final cost decision in their hands.
Project Management
▶ Change Order Summary report
Add multi-select functionality to the Change Orders page, with a printable summary report that consolidates selected change orders by location, clearly separates additions and removals, and calculates net change for faster, standardized stakeholder communication.
UI/UX
▶ Deep Linking to specific pages & shareable URLs
With Deep Linking in D-Tools Cloud, you can instantly share direct links to catalog items, projects, tasks, opportunities, and more, bringing your team exactly where they need to be with a single click. Faster navigation, better collaboration, and zero guesswork.
▶ Show/Sort on Stage & Status column headers
The Stage and Status column headers are now visible across Cloud tables, so you can click them to sort just like any other column. A small fix that restores expected table behavior and makes it easier to organize and prioritize what you're looking at.
Improvements
The following improvements were released in the D-Tools Cloud R99 release.
Accounting and Finance
▶ Tax IDs on company profile
Two tax ID fields have been added to the company profile. These fields are currently informational only. A new permission, Manage Tax IDs, has been added to control which users can see and edit the tax IDs.
CRM
▶ Permission to control editing of Account Number and Adjustments to the workflow
It is now easier to prevent the account number from being accidentally changed. Clicking the account number now opens a pop-up to change it, rather than making it editable.
A new permission, Manage Account Number, has also been added to control which users can modify the account number.
▶ Pinned Notes on accounts
It is now possible to pin notes on an account. Pinned notes will always float to the top of the Notes tab for the account. The Details tab of the Edit Account page will now show up to five of the newest added pinned notes, giving you control over what appears on this page.
▶ Service Contracts tab to edit the account
A Service Contracts tab has been added to the Edit Account page. This tab will list all service contracts for the selected account. You can quickly open the service contract and use filters to find a specific contract.
▶ Show First and Last Name in contacts grid/table
Columns for First Name and Last Name have been added to both the Contacts page and the Contacts tab in Edit Account to provide more sorting options for your contacts.
▶ Two new Account Types - Residence and House of Worship
Two new account types, Residence and House of Worship, have been added, allowing you to model your client base more accurately.
▶ User experience improvements on Edit Account
The Edit Account page is getting a cleaner and more scalable layout. A complete view of the account is now available on a single page, eliminating the need to search and open multiple pages to find the information you need.
Engineering Documentation and Drawings
▶ Catalog-Driven coverage visibility control in the Detail panel
This feature will evolve into a broader rule-based UI rendering system that dynamically adapts based on product metadata and capabilities.
Future enhancements may include support for additional conditional features, user-defined overrides, validation warnings, and deeper integration with catalog management. These improvements will create a more intelligent and context-aware interface, reducing configuration errors and improving usability across complex system designs.
▶ Create New Diagram with Multi-Type support
This feature establishes a standardized workflow for creating diagrams across multiple types within the Drawing Manager. The initial release will focus on a flexible modal interface, seamless file uploads, and accurate routing to diagram editors.
Future enhancements may include template selection, auto-saving drafts, duplicating existing diagrams, and integrating with external design tools to further streamline diagram creation.
▶ Default Location Assignment for Plan View items (excluding non-placeable accessories)
This feature enhances Plan View usability by automating the placement of eligible quote items directly into defined locations, reducing manual effort and improving workflow efficiency. By intelligently filtering placeable equipment from non-visual accessories and organizing items within spatial boundaries, the feature streamlines project setup and delivers cleaner layouts for system designers.
Future roadmap enhancements may include advanced placement intelligence, customizable placement rules, improved collision detection, and AI-assisted layout optimization to further accelerate project design workflows.
▶ Improve Connection Notes editing, feedback, and interaction
Enhance the connection notes experience by improving edit mode feedback and clarity, ensuring users can confidently create and update notes without confusion.
▶ Rename and relocate the Drawing tab to “Drawings” in the Opportunity navigation
This feature will streamline access to diagrams by consolidating entry points and improving navigation clarity within Opportunities. The implementation will focus on UI updates, navigation restructuring, and removal of redundant elements while preserving data integrity.
Future iterations may expand drawing-related capabilities within the Opportunity workspace, such as enhanced collaboration or version tracking.
▶ Render I/O direction using Symbols
Enhance clarity and streamline I/O visualization by replacing text-based direction values with intuitive symbols across the platform.
▶ Unique Terminal Display in the I/O selection panel
This feature will evolve into a more intelligent I/O configuration system with enhanced filtering, validation, and contextual awareness. Future improvements may include dynamic compatibility filtering between signals and terminals, predictive suggestions, and standardized naming conventions across all devices.
Additional enhancements could introduce search and categorization within the terminal list, further improving usability and reducing configuration errors in complex connection workflows.
General/Miscellaneous
▶ Make selecting Contacts easier when sending emails
You are now presented with a list of contacts in the To field when sharing proposals and invoices. This list contains contacts for the proposal/change order/invoice, as well as contacts for the account associated with the record. It is still possible to select other contacts by searching.
Inventory
▶ Rebrand: "Basic/Advanced Inventory" → "Inventory Pools/Inventory Asset Management" site-wide
The two inventory modes have new names that better describe what they actually do. Basic Inventory is now Inventory Pools, and Advanced Inventory is now Inventory Asset Management (or just Asset Management / IAM, where space is tight).
Same functionality, clearer language across every menu, label, and setting where these appear.
Opportunities
▶ Ability to see that the subscription has been declined on the quote
When viewing subscriptions on the Edit Quote page, an indicator now shows whether the customer has declined a subscription during the proposal process.
▶ Add Accepted Information to Proposal Analytics
The Proposal Analytics tab now includes a column showing how many times a proposal has been viewed by a recipient, as well as who accepted it and when.
▶ Add Items control is always available on Quote and Change Order
The add item bar will now stay visible at the top of the page when scrolling on quotes and change orders. This allows you to add items more efficiently when working with large amounts of items.
▶ Add permission for Quote Payment Terms Editing
A new permission, Manage Quote Payment Terms, has been added, allowing you to control who can and cannot update the quote payment terms. Users without access will still be able to see the payment terms.
▶ Adjust Delete Activity entry for Optional Alternate Set on quotes
Improvements have been made to the activity entry created for deleted optional alternate sets to provide full visibility into what was removed from the quote.
▶ Adjustments to Quote Alternate Sets and Permissions
It is now possible to change the recommended item and remove options from an alternate set on a quote when you do not have access to edit catalog items. You are still prevented from updating the alternate set at the catalog level in this situation.
▶ Cost/Price of Allowance based on Costs
Allowances with calculated costs and/or prices can now be based on product cost, labor cost, or the cost of a specific labor type.
▶ Enhance Item Search on quotes and change orders to use Natural Language
The natural language and keyword search experience from the D-Tools Library is coming to the search on quotes and change orders, allowing you to find products, labor, and allowances the same way, whether you're browsing the catalog or building a quote/change order.
One search box handles both natural language and keyword queries — no toggle to flip between them — and a microphone icon lets you search by voice. Please note that this feature is being rolled out to a select number of sites at first, with access for everyone after the Beta period.
▶ Permission to Control Quote Item Cost edits
A new permission, Manage Quote Item Costs, has been added, allowing you to control who can and cannot update the unit cost for quote items.
▶ Permission to Control Quote Labor Type Cost editing
A new permission, Manage Quote Labor Type Costs, has been added, allowing you to control who can and cannot update the hourly cost for quote labor types.
▶ Terms and Conditions section on Proposals
Proposals now support a dedicated Terms and Conditions section. In addition to customizing the terms and conditions text, you also control how they are presented and whether your customer must agree to them before accepting the proposal.
Once the terms and conditions have been accepted, you can see who accepted them and when, and the text is locked from editing. You are not limited to just a single section, and sections can also be included in proposal templates.
Reports
▶ Miscellaneous improvements on the Sales Results report
In preparation for upcoming improvements to the sales process and reporting, we went through a round of fit-and-finish on the Sales Results report. Labels were updated to provide more clarity and consistency. The action to produce the Sales Results export (renamed from Sales Report) has been moved to the top of the page for easy access. Please note that the option has been moved below the Sales Forecast report in the navigation menu to align with the sales cycle flow.
