Cloud has two modes for Inventory Management: Inventory Pools and Inventory Asset Management (IAM). 

The Inventory Pools mode includes entry-level features, and the IAM mode includes all inventory-related features. 

You can enable the Inventory Pools mode and the Inventory Asset Management (IAM) mode when enabling the Inventory Management functionality on Cloud. If you enable the Inventory Pools mode, you can later upgrade to the IAM mode.
