We recommend signing into Cloud while reading this article and completing all five steps. You will be prepared to explore the Project Management functionality by finishing all five steps.
1️⃣ Create an opportunity
"Opportunity" is where the Sales process for a project begins. Opportunity holds the estimated budget, source details, referral details, client details, work site and billing addresses, tax rates, and other details to help you categorize all opportunities easily.
Cloud allows you to create two types of opportunities:
Project opportunity to sell products, labor, and service plans for product repair and maintenance.
Service opportunity to sell only service plans.
Check out this article for more details about creating a project opportunity.
You can add the client's details when creating the opportunity.
Check out this article for more details about how to update client details.
You cannot create service opportunities during the trial period, as the Service Management functionality is only available with paid plans.
2️⃣ Build the quote
"Quote" is where you add the products and labor required for the project. If necessary, you can create multiple quotes within an opportunity to factor in the revisions requested by the customer.
When you create an opportunity, a quote will be created by default within the opportunity.
The quote has a few important things associated with it:
◢ Locations are rooms in residential or commercial projects, campuses, or buildings in large projects. Depending on the industry you chose during the sign-up, a location will be available by default.
◢ Tax rates for products and labor. Cloud has an integration with Avalara to add tax rates automatically based on the site address. This integration is enabled by default. You will see tax rates calculated automatically for the products and labor in the quote.
◢ Payment terms that define the payment schedule for the project. Depending on the industry you chose during the sign-up, a relevant payment term will be applied to the quote by default.
Now, you will need to add products and labor to the quote. We recommend adding products and labor directly in the quote for simplicity and speed. The other ways to add products to Cloud are listed under “Try more features” in this section.
Check out this article for more details about adding products and labor within the quote.

3️⃣ Create the proposal
Once you have the quote ready, you will need to create the proposal from it so you can formally share your design, labor, terms, tax rates, and overall project total with the customer.
On Cloud, a proposal is divided into multiple sections. Some sections, such as products, payment terms, and taxes, will show data from the quote. You can add more sections like Gallery, Professional Licenses, Case Studies, and Awards to make the proposal appealing and persuasive.
You can create proposals in two layouts: "Multimedia" for lengthy and large projects and "Quick Quote" for small projects with only a few sections.
Check out this article for more details about creating the proposal.

5️⃣ Mark the opportunity as Won

There are many ways in which you can mark the opportunity as won.
Move the opportunity tile to the Won column on the Kanban board.
Change the opportunity stage to "Won" in the "Stage" column.
Click the "Won" button next to the resource selector in the opportunity details view.
Once you mark an opportunity as won, you will see a prompt stating that a project will be created for the opportunity. You can see the new project under "Projects" in the left navigation menu.
