The D-Tools Cloud Mobile app has settings you can configure to optimize how technicians can add time entries when at the work site to work on project events and service calls.

To access the settings, tap the 3-line drawer in the top-right corner of the app, and tap "Time Entry Settings." The following are the settings:

  • "Start Job Prompt" and "End Job Prompt": These settings prompt technicians to use the “Start job and End job” functionality for jobs scheduled at the work site.

  • "Exit Debounce" and "Geofence Radius": These settings define how the Cloud mobile app identifies a technician's arrival and departure from the work site.

Start Job Prompt

Set "Enable Start Job Prompt" to ON so technicians see a prompt to start the job on the app after they enter the work site's geofence radius.

From the "Re-Prompt Interval" dropdown, you can select an interval to show another prompt if they have not started the job after the first prompt.

You can select one of the following intervals: immediately, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour.

End Job Prompt

Set "Enable End Job Prompt" to ON so technicians see a prompt to end the job on the app after they leave the work site's geofence radius.

From the "Re-Prompt Interval" dropdown, you can select an interval to show another prompt if they have not ended the job after the first prompt.

You can select one of the following intervals: immediately, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour.

The following screenshot shows an example of how the Start Job Prompt and End Job Prompt settings are configured.

Exit Debounce

From the "Exit Debounce Duration" dropdown, select a duration for which technicians should remain outside the geofence radius for the mobile app to consider departure.

You can select one of the following intervals: 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes.

Geofence Radius

Select a radius that defines the technician's arrival and departure from the work site coordinates.

  • Moving into the radius is an arrival

  • Moving out of the radius is a departure

From the "Radius" dropdown, select a radius in meters: 100, 250, or 500.

The following screenshot shows an example of how the Exit Debounce and Geofence Radius settings are configured.
