Written by Ashok P

A "Connection Type" defines the category of the connection between devices; for example, Microwave falls under the RF category, and Wi-Fi falls under the network data category.

By default, we provide the most commonly used connection types.

To add a new connection type:

2/ Click "New connection type" in the top-right corner.

3/ In the modal, do the following:

a/ Add a name for the connection type.

b/ Select a category.

c/ If needed, you can add fields to display the specifications of the connection type. To do this, select a field in the "Select field" dropdown menu, then click "Add Field."

In the connection diagram, you can enter the specifications in the relevant fields.

For example, fields to display the "Version," "Role," and "Power Support" specifications for a USB connection type.

4/ Click "Save."

The new connection type is added to the list of connection types.

In the following screenshot, we added a new connection type called "Microwave," with a few required connection fields.

You can change the category and add or remove connection fields for a connection type as needed.

You can search for a specific connection type and sort the list.
